Ben Bavinck who passed away at the ripe old age of 97 was a dedicated and tireless worker for humanity. He came to Ceylon as a missionary from Holland and was associated with the Jaffna Diocese of the Church of South India from 1954. He was able to learn the the Tamil language and able to mix with the ordinary people following the traditions set by the early missionaries.
